Kimmel Bogrette worked with with The College of New Jersey to provide a feasibility study for a total building renovation to the two 11-story U-shaped wings of Travers-Wolfe Hall connected by a two-story link. The intent is to make the dormitory more comfortable, welcoming, and attractive to prospective students while invoking the feeling of home. The rooms will be double occupancy with selected single occupancy rooms for Resident Advisors. The building will support 550 freshman students in each tower, building lounges, offices, recreation rooms and a dining facility.
The general scope of work includes window and storefront entrance replacement, remediation of spalling concrete on the facade, improve aesthetics of the facade and entrances, environmental/ hazardous material remediation, addition of shared common spaces, exterior and interior signage, complete gut and reconstruction of bathrooms, replacement of plumbing/piping/fixtures/equipment, new air conditioning unit throughout the building, replacement of existing air conditioning units/hot water systems/pumps/ventilation, replacement of telephone and fiber feeds, replacement of electrical switches/outlets/wiring/circuit breakers and replacement of the fire alarm system.
