High School Conversion into the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts Willingboro, NJ
  • Client:
  • Size:45,000 Square Feet
  • Total Cost:$7.7 Million
  • Completion Date:March 2015

Kimmel Bogrette worked with the Willingboro Township Recreation & Parks Department to “re-imagine” large portions of a former High School as a Performing Arts & Conference Center and Banquet Facility. The Performing Arts Center is now a venue for a wide variety of activities such as large and small musical performances, drama, dance and the spoken word. An exhibit area for visual arts was also incorporated. The Banquet Facility offers a venue for a variety of community activities, serving a diverse menu of cuisines for large and small, formal and informal events. Events include wedding receptions, banquets, and food service for conferences and the Performing Arts Center. The Performing Arts Center and the Banquet Facility work together to provide a “sum that is greater than the total of its parts.” The newly proposed uses are complementary to the other community activities already on the site. The result is a dynamic and vital Center filled with community activity and pride that will also be financially self-sustainable.
